Sales & Events Manager

Salary: £36,000 – £42,000 (DOE)
Location: London SW6
Employment Type: Full-Time (40 hrs per week)
Reports to: Head of Events

About the Role

As The Ripe Avocado continues to grow, we’re expanding our team and looking for a Sales & Planning Manager to join us at an exciting stage in our journey.

Based at our SW6 HQ, you’ll become part of a close-knit, ambitious team delivering a wide range of exceptional events across London, working with premium clients and venues.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a fast-growing, award-winning catering business, with real scope for progression as we continue to build the business. You’ll be responsible for converting enquiries into confirmed events, developing client relationships and ensuring every event is planned and delivered to the highest standards, while maintaining strong commercial awareness and working closely with our Head of Events and Founder.

Key Responsibilities

Working closely with the Head of Events and our Founder, the Sales & Planning Manager will manage the end-to-end sales and planning process, from initial enquiry through to event delivery and post-event follow-up.

  • Converting incoming enquiries into confirmed bookings through proactive sales and relationship building

  • Managing key client relationships and acting as the main point of contact throughout the planning process

  • Working closely with the kitchen and operations teams to ensure seamless event delivery

  • Producing detailed and accurate event sheets for the operations team

  • Managing event budgets and P&Ls alongside the operations and kitchen teams

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with venues and external partners to encourage repeat business

  • Providing creative input into event concepts, menus and catering proposals

  • Maintaining exceptional standards of service, presentation and attention to detail across all aspects of an event

  • Delivering an outstanding client journey from initial enquiry through to post-event follow-up

About You

The ideal avocado will be commercially minded, highly organised and passionate about events and hospitality, with the confidence to thrive in a busy and growing business.

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in sales, event planning or account management within catering, hospitality or events

  • Strong understanding of sales strategies, with experience managing budgets and P&Ls

  • Confidence and professionalism in client-facing environments

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Exceptional organisation and attention to detail

  • The ability to remain calm under pressure while managing multiple events and competing priorities

  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required
