The Ripe Avocado Suya Station where West African flavour meets theatre
We take guests straight to the streets of Accra with our Suya Station with smoky, spicy skewers hot off the grill, marinated in the famous West African spice blend “Yaji.” It’s interactive, vibrant, and packed with flavour.
Choose your skewer: grilled beef, butterfly prawns, or king oyster mushrooms with a miso glaze for our vegan friends. Pair it with sides like golden yam and cassava – the West African answer to fries, a family staple for our founders and just as moreish as chips.
Then comes the fun part: the dips. From fiery Scotch Bonnet sauce to Sosu Kaani (sos-ooh-karni), a Senegalese hot sauce that’s not for the faint-hearted, there’s something for every palate. But the one that always gets people talking is Shito (sheet-oh) – West Africa’s answer to ketchup. A rich, spicy blend of ground crayfish and prawns, it goes on absolutely everything. Our founder’s Nana swears by it so much she carries an emergency stash in her purse.
The theatre is in the tasting. Guests step up, pick their Suya, load up on sauces, and discover a whole new flavour experience. It’s bold, it’s playful, and it gets people talking (and coming back for more).
One of our Suya Station highlights? Bringing the experience to EventFest 2025 with Event Concept. The skewers didn’t stop sizzling, the dips and sides kept guests curious, and the station buzzed with energy all night long. Watching people discover something new – and fall in love with it – is exactly why we do what we do.
It’s authentic. It’s fiery. It’s unforgettable.
And yes, it’s absolutely a signature Ripe Avocado experience.
