The Columbia

Overlooking Hyde Park, The Columbia is a proudly independent, family-run hotel that has been part of London’s story for over four generations. What was once a row of five Victorian townhouses has seen it all: from opium dealers and a Viceroy, to a Red Cross hospital and an Air Force officers’ club. In the 80s and early 2000s it became the crash pad of choice for rising rockstars, with legends like Iggy Pop, Amy Winehouse and The Gallagher brothers calling it home on tour.

Today, The Columbia remains true to its roots as a creative house for London’s artists, explorers and makers. With four decades of history hosting the capital’s music scene, it offers a uniquely relaxed setting where elegance meets edge.

From grand celebrations in the Windsor Suite with its sweeping balcony over Kensington Gardens, to intimate gatherings in the Lancaster Suite with its distressed walls and marble fireplace, the spaces are as versatile as they are atmospheric.

The Columbia can host everything from glorious receptions to cosy dinners, across its five suites always with the warmth and personality of a family-run house.

“The Columbia has such a magic about it, a place where history, music and creativity all collide. The energy of its past guests lingers in the walls, and yet it feels as warm and personal as a family home. We can’t wait to bring our own flavour of hospitality here.”
